Open to the Universe

Have A Mind That Is Open To Everything And Attached To Nothing

'Having a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing sounds easy until you think about how much conditioning has taken place in your life, and how many of your current thoughts were influenced by geography, the religious beliefs of your ancestors, the color of your skin, the shape of your eyes, the political orientation of your parents, your size, your gender, the schools that were selected for you, and the vocation of your great-grandparents, to list only some possibilities.

You showed up here as a tiny infant capable of an infinite number of potentialities. Many of your choices remain unexplored because of a hopefully well-intentioned conditioning program designed to make you fit the culture of your caretakers. You probably had next to no opportunity to disagree with the cultural and societal arrangements made for your life.

There may have been some adults who encouraged you to have an open mind, but if you’re honest with yourself, you know that your philosophy of life, your religious beliefs, your manner of dress, and your language are a function of what your tribe (and its heritage) determined was right for you. If you made any fuss about going against this preordained conditioning, you probably heard even stronger voices insisting that you get back in line and do things the way they have “always been done.” Fitting in superseded having a mind that was open to new ideas.

Whatever the reasons our ancestors may have had for not having open minds, it’s true that they inhabited a much less populated world than we do. In today’s overpopulated world, we simply cannot continue to live with those old styles of closed-mindedness. I urge you to open your mind to all possibilities, to resist any efforts to be pigeonholed, and to refuse to allow pessimism into your consciousness. Having a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing seems to me to be one of the most basic principles that you can adopt to contribute to individual and world peace.'

Loving and Giving

“My husband, my family, my friends, my boyfriends - they've all taught me things about love and what that emotion really means. In a nutshell, loving someone is about giving, not receiving."
~ Nicholas Sparks

Family on lawn Psychic reading

Most important of all you have to give love to receive it. To keep on taking without giving back. Becomes a one way emotion. It is all about sharing and opening your heart to let love in. So today let love in and see what you get back.

Mercury Retrograde 101

Mercury Retrograde Review

If you have been reading here for a while, you hear me use the “re” themes when it comes to retrograde period. This is the key to every retrograde period, and most certainly to Mercury Retrogrades which are the only ones occurring several times a year. Mercury is a smaller planet and thus its retrogrades are not as impactful as others.

In other words, when bad things happen during Mercury retrograde, they aren′t as big or epic as changes that happen in our lives during other major planetary transits.
Of course, having a flight delayed or a computer crashing seems life changing at the time, but is it really? Use “re” themes present in every Mercury retrograde, and every retrograde in general, and you will find that Mercury retrograde is actually a blessing in disguise. New computer perhaps if you see a big crash?

We experienced the great Orange Juice Spill of 2014 during one Mercury retrograde, and it led to some much brighter computer days ahead, but it didn't feel so bright at the time. Having a flight delayed could also mean getting some extra time to chat up someone cute who is just as frustrated as you are.

Let′s “re” view what happens during Mercury retrograde. Here we have the planet that rules communication, messages, and short journeys taking a dip back a little bit. Many people mistakenly think that a retrograde means the planet is moving backwards. It only feels that way. Mercury “re"trograde actually just means the planet is moving slower.

Of course, this means all things this planet rules are going to be slower as well. Also, when a planet is direct, or moving forward at regular speed, its themes are present through external events or experiences. However when a planet is retrograde, the things you are experiencing are internal. Therein lies the beauty of Mercury retrograde, and how you can use this period to resolve conflicts in your life. This Summer′s Mercury retrograde is happening from August 13 to September 5. The most wrinkly days will be on the days Mercury goes retrograde, on August 13, and when it turns direct again, on September 5.

On August 13, Mercury will make a station, or almost come to a full stop, and start to slow down. It will do so in the Mutable Earth Sign Virgo. It will stay retrograde in Virgo until August 31. Because Mercury is still moving, just slower, it is now going backwards through the zodiac and will be retrograde in the Fixed Fire Sign Leo on August 31.

Follow Your Bliss

What Do You Love in Life!

I think that is a really important lesson for us al!
Here is what Wayne Dwyer said about it:

Interesting or exciting or passionate or moving or motivating, there’s a way to make a living at it. It doesn’t make any difference what it is. My son, Sands was passionate about surfing. He was attending college at the University of Central Florida and doing fine, but his whole life was about surfing. He’d get up in the morning and check where the waves are all over the world. I’d tell him he didn’t have to get a business degree now; he didn’t have to go to college in his 20’s. He talked endlessly about surfing—the feeling of being on a surfboard, riding that wave, being at one with the ocean.

I told him there was a way to make a living while following his passion. Imagine yourself there, I suggested, teaching people to surf, working in a surf shop, starting a surf shop, making surfboards, studying oceanography, being a boat captain who takes people to surfing locations. There are endless ways to be connected to your dream, to follow your bliss.

And it doesn’t matter how old you are or how long you’ve been doing something. When I share this in talks, men in their 40’s and 50’s tell me, “I can’t change professions now. I’ve been doing it for 25 years.”

I ask, “Who decided you would be an engineer or a doctor or a lawyer?”

“I decided when I was 18,” they say.

“And now you’re 50? Would you go to an 18-year-old for advice on what you should be doing with your life?” That always makes them stop and think.

“Not unless that youngster tells you to listen to your bliss!” I remind them.

Joseph Campbell explained it perfectly when he said, “The person who takes a job in order to live - that is to say, for the money and not for purpose or passion, has turned himself into a slave.”

I think that is a really important lesson for us all

The True Beauty of a Woman

“The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows and the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."
― Audrey Hepburn

Beautiful quote for we women. Sometimes women are not appreciated for all that they do for others. But besides that many men are not appreciated for all that they do. It takes two to tango to build a good relationship or to rebuild an old one. Communication is the key to balance a perfect relationship. Start by holding hands. Many times all you need is a good squeeze. True Love is a wonderful energy to hold onto.

Look on the Bright Side of Life...

“If you think about disaster, you will get it. Brood about death and you hasten your demise. Think positively and masterfully, with confidence and faith, and life becomes more secure, more fraught with action, richer in achievement and experience."
― Swami Sivananda

This sure sounds like a good direction to start a week. You all know how positive I am. SO START THE WEEK WITH YOUR HEART ALIVE AND READY FOR ACTION TO BUILD YOUR LIFE'S DIRECTION.

Release and Move Forward

“Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?”
― Mary Manin Morrissey

Keep moving forward. You will be the winner, only you can make it all work. Easier said than done. Emotions always get in the way. Wipe away the tears. Look at what is in front of you and give it a go. Usually 2nd time does not fail.
